Nanchang is a famous historical and cultural city hailed as a "natural treasure" and "a land of outstanding people" by the great poet Wang Bo of the Tang Dynasty. It also became a hero city due to the Nanchang Uprising happened on August 1, 1927 . Tengwang Pavilion stands next to the Ganjiang River. It is one of the "Three Famous Buildings in Jiangnan" and a landmark of Nanchang. Nanchang's special snacks such as rice noodles and crock pot simmering soup are also delicacies worth trying.
